Hi, I am Robert J. Adkins. I am the father of Three Awesome sons. I also have been blessed to be the papa of two beautiful granddaughters. I am proud to be the son of Carol and Thomas Adkins, and the big brother of John Adkins. I decided to go to work for my mother who purchased a commercial painting company in 1989. I started in the painting business as a helper. I quickly caught on to the fact that the more I learned, and the better I understood this business, the better off I would be. I worked my way up through the next 27 years and then was promoted to General Manager. I’ve tried to teach my employees the things I’ve learned over the years so they could better their lives and the loved ones around them. Looking back over the years gives me the desire to keep moving forward as a leader in this company. “When things get hard, don’t quit. Decide to get stronger.”

Hi my name is Gary Steele. I started working for AQP in 2009 as a helper. I have learned so much about working with others and being responsible for everything I do on my own. Hi my name is Gary Steele. I started working for AQP in 2009 as a helper. I have learned so much about working with others and being responsible for everything I do on my own. I didn’t plan on being a Professional Painter when I started as a helper in this Business. But as time went by, I found myself learning the ins and outs of painting. After a few years went by I was promoted to field supervisor and then realized how much knowledge I have gained over the years of my employment. I enjoy being able to confidently perform my duties on each jobsite I work on. Putting a smile on customers faces one job at a time makes my job rewarding. I have been able to travel to places across the Carolina’s and Southern Virginia through my work that I would have never been able to see if I hadn’t become a painter 14 years ago. I am very excited to see what is in my future as I continue to work for this Company that makes me feel like family.
